Béla Fleck and the Flecktones

My family, my grandma and I went to a Béla Fleck concert in Roanoke, VA. I thought it was going to be old people music like Jimmy Buffet and Dave Matthews. Although Dave Matthews is younger old people music. All I can say is that it was not. The band consists of 4 people. They are:

(L to R) Victor Wooten, Béla Fleck, Jeff Coffin, and Roy Wooten.  Howard Levy has recently taken the place of Jeff Coffin. Let me talk a little bit about the band members.

                                                              Victor Wooten

He is the little brother of Roy Wooten(we will get to know him in a minute) and has 3 other brothers. Born September 11 1964, he is 51 as of now. He lives in Mountain Home, Idaho, with some of his genres being: jazz fusion, funk, funk rock and hip hop. He is a musician, song writer, producer and an author.

                                                                 Béla Fleck

Born July 10, 1958 in New York City. he is 58 at the moment. He is married to Abigail Washburn. And has been part of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones since 1989. He plays the banjo and a variety of other instruments.

                                                       Future Man/Roy Wooten

Roy is probably the best known of the band. He is known as Future Man, Roy Wooten, RoyEI and Futche. He is an inventor, musician and composer. He was born 58 years ago in Hampton, VA. He has 4 brothers; Victor Wooten, Regi Wooten, Joseph Wooten and Rudy Wooten. He plays the Drumitar, the Zendrum, drums, percussion and vocals. He invented both the Drumitar:
and the Zendrum:
He does Jazz and Fusion.

                                                               Jeff Coffin

Born August 5, 1965, Jeff is 51 at the moment. He is a musician, composer, and educator. He plays the saxophone, clarinet, and the flute. He has been active since 1991 and hasn't stopped yet.  He likes to play Jazz, Fusion, alternative rock and pop rock. Besides the Flecktones he has played with: Dave Matthews band, the Mu'tet, and Umphrey's McGee.

                                                             Howard Levy

Not Howard Levi, Howard Levy. He was born July 31, 1951, Howard is 65 years old. He is from Brooklyn, New York City. He plays the harmonica, piano, ocarina, mandolin, flute, jaw harp, the sax and percussion.  He has too many genres to put down so here are a few: Jazz, classical, world, bebop, R&B, and Indian. He has played with a variety of people and bands with a few of them being: Trio Globo, Chévere, and Acoustic Express

My favorite person from the concert was Howard Levy, because he was switching from the harmonica to the flute while playing the a piano. It was crazy cool.

Ok, I'ma leave you here, if I forgot something or you just have something to put in tell me in the comments! See you next time!!! BYEEEEE!!!!
