We'll Be Back!!

Our goal when we started on this journey was to travel along the east coast and then north to Minnesota and follow the Mississippi River back to the Gulf. We roughly planned this to be a six month trip. I believe it was before we left Florida that we began making plans for additional trips to Canada, out west, and New England. We quickly realized that full timing could be a reality for the next few years.

It wasn't until this trip to Door County, WI that I began thinking about what we would do if/when we wanted to settle down again in a sticks and bricks house. We decided months (and maybe even years) ago that we would sell our house in Florida as soon as the market would allow. But we never discussed life "off" the road.

I have enjoyed our time in Door County immensely. The people of Bailey's Harbor are some of the nicest I've met! There was a lovely lady at Beantown campground who had read our blog and stopped to say hello every time she drove past us.

More specifically, northern Door County has been my favorite so far. Washington Island was beautiful. The people were incredibly friendly, the towns are exceptionally clean, there is so much green space dedicated to kids, and the area is rich with history.

I've spoken to a few locals who say the winters are harsh but they tough it out. Now, if only I can convince Steve...

For now, we aren't ready to "settle down". We still have so much more to see. I have a feeling, though, that I'll see more of Door County in the future!
